Everett WA Real Estate and General Information


Everett is the county seat and largest city in Snohomish County, Washington located just 25 miles north of Seattle. As of the 2000 census its population was 91,488 and its population in April 1, 2007 was estimated to be 101,800 by the Washington State Office of Financial Management. Everett is home to the second-largest marina on the west coast of the United States, was selected as the site of a U.S. Navy Homeport, Naval Station Everett and home to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. It is also home to Boeing's assembly plant for the 747, 767, 777, and the new 787 in the largest building in the world.

Everett consists of 19 communities, each with its own strong neighborhood association, and all making up the larger Office of Neighborhoods. These communities include Bayside, Boulevard Bluffs, Cascade View, Delta, Everett Mall South, Evergreen, Glacier View, Harborview-Seahurst-Glenhaven, Holly, Lowell, Northwest, Pinehurst-Beverly Park, Port Gardner, Riverside, Silver Lake, South Forest Park, Valley View-Sylvan Crest-Larimer Ridge, View Ridge-Madison, and Westmont.

EDUCATION
Students in Everett are included within the Everett School District and have access to its 17 elementary and 5 middle schools, and its four high schools including Cascade High School, Everett High School, Henry M. Jackson High School and Sequoia High School. Post-secondary colleges and university within Everett include the Everett Community College and Eton Technical Insitutute, and close access to colleges and universities at Edmonds Community College, Seattle Community College - North and Central Campuses, City University, Bellevue Community College, and Seattle University.

RECREATION
Situated at the mouth of the Snohomish River on Possession Sound, the Everett waterfront is home to the Everett Yacht Club, and its marina is is the summertime home to the Everett Farmer's Market on Sundays and the Waterfront Concert Series that takes place each Thursday night as part of a city-wide free concert series.

Everett is home to 40 parks, the biggest parks which are Walter E. Hall Park at 137 acres, Forest Park at 111 acres, and Langus Riverfront Park at 96 acres. Walter E. Hall Park near the Boeing plant sports a golf course and a skate park, Forest Park has a swimming pool complete with lifeguards. hockey, horseshoes, miles of trails and an animal farm, while Langus Park has a boat launch; one of the smaller parks, Thornton A. Sullivan Park, hosts a sandy swimming beach on Silver Lake as well as public docks for fishing.
